This "Bat Themed" sword was completed in 2008. The Nakago / Blade is made with high-quality high-carbon steel and is signed by Ryu-San. The Blade and Habaki have both been engraved by hand chiseling the design into the metal. The Saya / Scabbard is handcrafted from wood and has been hand carved and lacquered to match the sword design and it is signed, just like the blade. The Fuchi, Kashira and Menuki are made from solid bronze, chiseled by hand and then hand enameled / painted. The Tsuba / Handguard is solid Iron, hand chiseled and enameled and is also signed. The overall length of the Katana is 68 cm long. The wrap on the Tsuka / handle is Ray Skin and then wrapped with silk. Please be aware, this katana is as deadly as it is a decorative piece of art. Not A Toy!
Nihonjin Satsuma Bat Katana
This sword will be shipped within a few days of confirmation of funds being received. It will be packaged it be insured, shipped safely and will require a signature on delivery. This is a one-of-a-kind sword. It cannot be remade, since Ryu-San is no longer able to craft them.
